Starting and arriving at Aldeia do Xisto de Fajão, the route “Voltinhas do Ceira” takes the visitor to get to know some of the most characteristic natural and cultural aspects of the Serra do Açor and, in the lower part of the route, stroll along to the Ceira River, with clear and refreshing waters.
After a traditional lunch at the Pascoal restaurant and a visit to the Monsenhor Nunes Pereira Museum, the destination is the village of Cabril, where you will learn about the history of the village, its probable origin in the word Caprilae (Goat) and, also, the nucleus of the Primary School where, currently, the Atelier da Filhó Espichada operates.
Here, you will learn about the artisanal manufacturing process, get your hands dirty and try this mountain delicacy.
On the way to Casal da Lapa, there is time to enjoy the view from the Miradouro Sul da Barragem de Santa Luzia and enjoy the waters of the reservoir. Dinner is at Bar da Cal, right next to the dam, with a privileged view of the surrounding quartzite outcrop.
Between dinner and supper, enjoy a night trip in a canoe or a short walk to Vidual de Baixo where you can be dazzled by the brightness of the night sky in an observation conducted by the guide Samuel Batista. This experience is completed with a photo session under the stars.
